FEU Alabang made a strong statement at the first-ever Philippine Daily Inquirer ESG Edge Impact Awards, taking home three (3) Gold Trophies in a landmark recognition of its environmental initiatives. As the first academic institution in the Philippines to receive the international EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) Certification, the Institute’s success underscores its commitment to sustainability and its role in fostering a greener future.

The event, which celebrates impactful work in the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) sphere, saw FEU Alabang earn top honors in the Environment category for their forward-thinking programs in:

Sustainable Ecosystems / Biodiversity Conservation: For the Institute’s dedicated efforts to reduce embodied energy by 32% through initiatives like iTamMakakalikasan that support ecological preservation through tree planting, as well as promoting sustainable transport by supporting electric buses serving the Filinvest area.

Water Management and Efficiency: For achieving a 39% reduction in water consumption through water-saving efforts, including the campus-wide in-house water filtration system, which provides safe and accessible drinking water to students and employees.

Energy Efficiency: For accomplishing a 30% reduction in energy consumption through a 100% transition to renewable energy in December 2024, four years ahead of their proposed target date in 2028.
