Posted: 2026-06-17

FEU Alabang’s Senior High School students successfully completed the second cohort of their cultural exchange and education tour in partnership with Hsin Chuang Senior High School in Taiwan—the largest ATams crowd to date.

From an initial pool of nine student applicants, a total of 37 Tamaraws merrily joined the six-day program, marking the institution’s biggest cohort yet in its international exchange initiatives. These students were in for a structured yet engaging array of academic engagements, cultural activities, and meaningful student-to-student collaboration.

The tour commenced with the arrival of the FEU Alabang delegation in Taiwan, followed immediately by a formal welcome event hosted by Hsin Chuang SHS. Both Filipino and Taiwanese students gave energetic cultural performances, from song numbers and dance productions, to theatrical presentations—all creative ways of expressing their national identities

A collaborative music class also engaged the crowd by the morning of the second day, making way for the SHS students from Taiwan and the Philippines to interact and get to know one another better.

In the afternoon, the FEU Alabang delegates toured Tainan, the oldest city in Taiwan, as well as the Anping Old Street and other historical temples, providing deeper insights into Taiwan’s cultural heritage and historical identity. The day concluded with a networking dinner in which the visiting Tamaraws spent more casual and relaxed time with their assigned Hsin Chuang SHS buddies.

On the third day, the Tamaraw delegates, along with their newfound friends, visited Cijin Island, a scenic coastal destination in Kaohsiung known for its cultural charm and seaside atmosphere.

Then, a campus scavenger activity was held to promote teamwork and engagement, followed by a visit to Lotus Pond, one of Kaohsiung’s most iconic cultural landmarks. The day ended with another networking dinner, further deepening student connections and cultural exchange.

The fourth day began with an energetic dodgebee activity, followed by a media productivity class focused on digital literacy and creative communication. Students also participated in handicrafts-making sessions the following day, which highlighted individual traditional artistry and cultural expression

The day ended with a heartfelt farewell program, courtesy of the students from Hsin Chuang Senior High School, which featured gift exchanges and earnest reflections by the Tamaraw delegates on their short but fun-filled learning experience in Taiwan.

Further into the night, the students from FEU Alabang SHS visited Ruifeng Night Market, one of Kaohsiung’s most popular destinations, where they immersed local cuisine and continued to bond with their Taiwanese buddies.

On the fifth and final full day of the tour, the Tamaraw delegates went to visit the National Science and Technology Museum, engaging with interactive exhibits on science and innovation, and toured Pier-2 Art Center, a creative hub known for contemporary art and cultural revitalization

They boarded the plane home the following day with hearts filled with treasured memories, new connections, and worthwhile learning experiences to ponder upon.

This six-day cultural exchange and educational tour with this cohort is FEU Alabang’s strongest participation yet in its Taiwan exchange program, reaffirming the school’s continued commitment to internationalization, experiential learning, and strengthening global partnerships in education.
