Tamaraws of the South kick off Sportsfest 2019

Posted: 2019-06-08

Excitement filled the air and cheers echoed in the newly opened FEU Alabang Gymnasium as fierce and brave Tamaraws of the South kicked off their inaugural Sportsfest this Monday.

Sportsfest 2019 officially opened with the Marching Band Festival where students and associates gathered together and watched the different bands perform including the award-winning FEU Drum and Bugle Corps, who played a repertoire of contemporary songs, original music scores, and marching routines for their fellow Tamaraws in Alabang.

Meanwhile, the FEU Drum Line performed a special exhibition of their best beats, making the sea of green and gold clap and sing along to the rhythm.

The Banda Cabiao Nueva Ecija 96 wowed the audience as their talented majorettes spun butterfly flags and batons with graceful ease. The band is a multi-awarded troupe who has toured the world to compete, perform, and amaze festivals-goers with musical revivals and perfected exhibitions.

After the band festival, students began the basketball and volleyball games at the gym while table tennis and chess competitions were played indoors.

College and Senior High School athletes from all majors and strands battled head to head in the elimination rounds, and that is just the first week.

(The first FEU Alabang Cheerdance Competition will be held next week along with the final rounds of the sporting events.)
